Just one week after reports that NFL Hall of Famer and media mogul Shannon Sharpe is eyeing a nine-figure podcast deal, he’s now facing serious legal heat.
A woman identified only as Jane Doe filed a civil lawsuit against Sharpe on Sunday in Nevada, accusing him of assault, sexual assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
According to the 13-page complaint, the two were in a “rocky consensual relationship” that turned dark. Allegations include:
— Sharpe recording their sexual encounters without consent
— Sharing explicit footage with others
— Pursuing the plaintiff after she tried to cut ties
— Allegedly raping her after a confrontation in October 2024
— Forcing unprotected sex in January 2025 despite her protests
The lawsuit paints a disturbing picture of manipulation, emotional trauma, and abuse, claiming Sharpe “refused to accept the answer ‘no.’”
The plaintiff is seeking at least $50 million in damages. The case is civil, not criminal — meaning there are no criminal charges at this time, but Sharpe will have to respond in court.
Sharpe has not yet released a public statement.
This is a developing story. Stay tuned for updates.
