Big news for Power Universe fans! The long-awaited character Breeze has finally stepped into the spotlight—and he’s being played by none other than Atlanta’s own Shameik Moore. STARZ officially confirmed the Dope and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse star made his debut in tonight’s Season 4 finale of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, and yes—he’s here to shake things up in a major way.
Fans have speculated about Breeze’s arrival since the very first season of the original Power back in 2014. Known as the elusive kingpin from Jamaica, Queens who once mentored young Kanan Stark, as well as Ghost and Tommy, Breeze has been a ghost in the franchise for years. But that ends now.
Shameik Moore will return as a series regular for Raising Kanan’s upcoming fifth and final season, which is already being hyped as the most intense and action-packed yet.
“The Power Universe fans have been patiently anticipating this moment and I’m honored to step into the iconic role of Breeze,” said Moore. “It was a fun challenge to find Breeze’s unique identity, and I can’t wait for fans to see how he shifts the dynamics of the story. It’s gonna be a wild ride.”
Let’s talk about that ride.

The Season 4 Finale Delivers
In the Season 4 finale, street legends Snaps (Wendell Pierce) and Pop (Erika Woods) introduce Kanan Stark (Mekai Curtis) to Breeze, setting the stage for a powerful new partnership—and a direct tie to the origins of the Power legacy.
Kanan’s relationship with his mother, drug queenpin Raquel “Raq” Thomas (Patina Miller), continues to unravel. Meanwhile, Unique (played by Joey Bada$$) is back from the shadows, adding fuel to the fire. With family ties fraying, loyalty tested, and new players entering the game, the stakes have never been higher. And Breeze? He’s just getting started.
Who Is Shameik Moore?
Shameik Moore is no stranger to the spotlight. He broke out in 2015’s cult-favorite film Dope and has since become the voice of Miles Morales in Sony’s animated Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse franchise. A native of Atlanta, Moore has built a reputation for bringing both depth and charisma to every role he takes on—and Breeze is no exception.
As the Power Book III: Raising Kanan universe begins its final chapter, Moore’s performance is already drawing attention from fans and critics alike. His presence brings a fresh intensity to the show, and his portrayal of Breeze promises to deepen the emotional and criminal layers of Kanan’s origin story.
What’s Next?
Season 5 is set to be explosive. Showrunner Sascha Penn says it was always his plan to end Kanan’s journey with five seasons—and now, with Breeze finally in play, we’re heading toward a finale worthy of Power Universe history.
“With the table we’ve set in this season finale and the inevitable introduction of Breeze, there is still an exceptionally intense and action-packed season left for viewers to experience,” Penn shared. “The stakes for Kanan and the entire Thomas family have never been higher.”
All four seasons of Power Book III: Raising Kanan are now streaming on the STARZ app and all STARZ platforms. Season 5 is expected to drop next year—so now is the time to catch up, rewatch, and buckle up.
