Comedy legend Dave Chappelle kicked off the new year in style, hosting the season’s inaugural episode of Saturday Night Live on Studio 8H. OWN’s hit reality series Belle Collective is losing two of its most talked-about stars. Following two drama-packed seasons, Aikisha Holly Colon and Sophia “SoGucci” Williams have both announced their departures from the show, leaving fans speculating about what this means for the future of the beloved unscripted series.

Aikisha Holly Colon: Stepping Away After a Tumultuous Run

Aikisha, an NFL wife and entrepreneur, shocked fans during a YouTube livestream with Belle Collective executive producer Carlos King. While her husband, Willie Colon, was the featured guest, Aikisha made an unexpected appearance to announce their departure. “I got my pick-up letter. Thank you for the opportunity and the platform. But unfortunately, we will not be returning. The Colons are done,” she said, catching even King off guard.

Sophia “SoGucci” Williams, Aikisha’s close friend and one of the show’s standout personalities, is also bowing out. The fitness trainer and realtor joined the series in Season 2 alongside her husband, JJ, and quickly became a fan favorite. However, after two tumultuous seasons, she’s chosen to step away to focus on healing her blended family.

Despite receiving a pick-up letter for another season, SoGucci revealed that her decision to leave was rooted in family priorities. In an Instagram post, she reflected on the challenges the show brought into her personal life, particularly conflicts with JJ’s ex-wife, Selena, that escalated to a physical altercation last season. The fallout led to charges, a no-contact order, and a growing divide within the family. JJ’s strained relationship with his daughters, highlighted by his absence at his daughter’s gender reveal party, only added to the tension.

“Watching the reunion episode was very hard to sit through, especially now knowing where my family currently stands,” SoGucci wrote in her heartfelt post. “I was disappointed in my actions because, even though I had my reasons, it should never have been addressed on this platform. I take full accountability for letting the show impact my family’s integrity.”

She continued, “I have apologized publicly and privately to Selena for my part in this production. We are moving forward, putting our family first and focusing on healing.” Williams also shared that the family is now on better terms, with all members, including the children, working towards reconciliation.

• Mia Thornton‘s life is what you’d call complicated. She’s in the process of getting a divorce from Gordon while her relationship with her new man, radio personality Inc, is hotter than ever. If that wasn’t enough, the ladies are questioning some of her actions, making it hard for her to know whom to trust in the group.
• Stacey Rusch has entered the Potomac chat and she’s causing lots of chatter. She’s a former QVC host and mother of an 8-year-old daughter, who, after 16 years of marriage, is divorcing her husband. As she enters this new phase in her life, she is struggling with the decision to date again and navigating a romantic relationship with her best friend, who is choosing celibacy over intimacy.
• Keiarna Stewart is trying to put the past behind her, but some wounds take longer to heal than others. While Keiarna works on building her relationship with the women, her plate is full. She’s running her business and launching a new skin care line. At the same time, she’s moving in with her man, Gregory, but things become challenging when his expectations are not met.

Big names in unscripted television came out on Thursday, August 8th to celebrate the premiere of the highly-anticipated We TV original series, The Braxtons, for a pre-reception and invite-only screening at the Westside Cultural Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Actress and comedienne Erica Ash passed away at the age of 46. 

In a statement obtained by Variety on Monday, her parents shared, “We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister and friend Erica Chantal Ash (1977-2024)… After a long and courageous battle with cancer, she transitioned peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. Erica was an amazing woman and talented entertainer who touched countless lives with her sharp wit, humor and genuine zest for life. Her memory will live eternally in our hearts.”

FIGHT NIGHT: THE MILLION DOLLAR HEIST, based on the acclaimed iHeart true-crime podcast, follows the infamous story of how an armed robbery on the night of Muhammad Ali’s historic 1970 comeback fight changed not only one man’s life but ultimately transformed Atlanta into the “Black Mecca.” When a hustler named Chicken Man (Kevin Hart) hosts an afterparty to celebrate the fight with a guest list of the country’s wealthiest, including top Black mafia leaders, the night ends with the most brazen criminal underworld heist in Atlanta’s history. Suspected of masterminding the crime, Chicken Man is hellbent on clearing his name but must convince his old adversary, J.D. Hudson (Don Cheadle), one of the first Black detectives in the city’s desegregated police force, who is tasked with bringing those responsible to justice.
