The Atlanta play runs November 3-19 at the Georgia Freight Depot. This is essential because Atlanta has one of the highest rates of new HIV infections. HIV remains a critically important issue for Black and Brown communities across the nation. This is something we all need to be talking about. The play works to remove the stigma still attached to HIV, which prevents millions from accessing HIV prevention and treatment, especially those from marginalized communities. An up-close, multi-sensory experience, As Much As I Can invites audience members to become part of the story and explore the lives of four men as they navigate one day that changes everything. As Much As I Can reflects the real lived experiences of bi, gay and queer men. No two experiences are exactly alike, and each of the characters presents an opportunity for an audience member to see their own lived experiences reflected, while also confronting how their experiences and biases may contribute to the stigma that still deeply impacts our communities. The play is free to the public to ensure equity and make high quality art accessible to the local community in Atlanta. When first launched in 2020, As Much As I Can was intentionally designed as an intervention to help turn the tides of the HIV epidemic. This 2020 run won a Cannes Lion, D&AD Award, and was recognized by Fast Company as a World Changing Idea and toured the US to sold out crowds. A Johns Hopkins University-led evaluation of the initial 2020 show showed a greater commitment from audience members to stand up for people living with HIV and for LGBTQ communities—with 90% of attendees indicating that they would talk to their friends about the show, and 72% indicating that they would say something if they heard stigmatizing language about people living with HIV. The ability to contribute to building this type of empathy and advocacy through a medium like As Much As I Can is a unique benefit of the production and will help us move the needle on combating HIV stigma. ViiV Healthcare is the only pharmaceutical company solely focused on HIV and AIDS. It is led by a largely female executive team and a Black female head of R&D – rare in the industry. The show was produced by award-winning creative and entertainment studio Harley & Company. Please use the QR code on the flyer below tickets below. KWAME AND LATICIA KILPATRICK LAUNCH MOVEMENTAL MINISTRIES
2022-01-20 15:14:53
“There is one thing we must always holdfast. The Spirit of the Lord is constantly ministering to us. Even through trial, tribulations, good times, and bad, He expects us to know this truth. Then, give the same consolation, encouragement, and victory we received from Him to others. Leadership is always service. If not, it’s arrogance. Jesus draws men and women unto Himself through the overcoming Victory He has given to us. Our lives preach the best sermons. So we are learning, maturing, and giving all at the same time.” -Kwame Kilpatrick
