Amazon just hit the brakes—HARD.
According to a new report from Bloomberg, Amazon (AMZN) is quietly canceling wholesale orders from Asia as the company reacts to President Trump’s escalating trade war.
We’re talking air conditioners, scooters, beach chairs—GONE.
The twist? These are the same orders where Amazon would’ve had to pay new tariffs.
Sources say the timing is no coincidence—Trump just hit nearly all trade partners with sweeping tariffs, and now Amazon is snatching orders back like summer never happened.
Former Amazon vendor manager Scott Miller told Bloomberg that vendors in Asia are scrambling, saying:
“Amazon really holds all of the cards.”
Translation? Sellers are stuck with canceled inventory and nowhere to go but to offload at lower margins or beg other retailers.
And what’s Jeff Bezos saying?
Nothing.
Despite donating to Trump’s inaugural fund and attending the inauguration, Bezos has stayed silent as the company’s stock slips over 12% since April 2, a date Trump dubbed “Liberation Day.”
Is this business… or political fallout?
Either way, Amazon vendors are feeling the heat—and not from their air conditioners.
