Ye Credits Daughter North West for Reigniting His Passion for Music
2025-01-22 17:00:07Ye, the artist formerly known as Kanye West, is finding new creative inspiration these days, thanks to his 11-year-old daughter, North West. The rapper, producer, and fashion mogul took to Instagram early Tuesday (Jan. 21) to share how North has sparked his renewed love for music.
In a series of Instagram posts, Ye revealed that he’s been hard at work in the studio, crafting beats for both North’s debut project and his upcoming Bully album. One standout post featured a black-and-white photo of North, with a heartfelt caption: “This little girl made me love music again. She asked me to make beats for her. I got back on the ASR, chopped up beats for her album, and chopped every beat with my bare hand for BULLY.”
A Family Affair
Ye’s creative process has been a collaborative family effort. Clips from the studio showed North actively participating in the sessions, alongside Ye’s cousin and frequent collaborator, The Wrldfms Tony Williams. Ye also received praise from his longtime collaborator Malik Yusef, who commented on the post, “I’ve been a witness. Seen it with my own two eyes. It’s really good to see the young God YE doing pure magic!!!!”
Even industry heavyweights like Swizz Beatz chimed in with support, adding to the flood of love in Ye’s comments section.
North’s Growing Influence
This isn’t North’s first foray into the spotlight. Last year, she contributed to Ye’s Vultures series, assisting on tracks like “Talking” and “Bomb” from V2. It’s clear that the eldest daughter of Ye and Kim Kardashian is carving her own creative path while continuing to inspire her father.
What’s Next for Ye?
On his own musical journey, Ye is preparing for the release of his highly anticipated Bully album. Earlier this month, he teased the project alongside his reunion with legendary producer Mike Dean, hinting at a return to the innovative sounds that defined his career.
Before wrapping up his Instagram spree, Ye took a moment to pay homage to one of his idols, No Limit Records CEO Master P. “MY HERO,” he captioned the post, adding his signature humor: “Ok, that’s my last post for 12 hours. But when I come back, it may be 20 posts, so don’t trip.”
The Legacy of Ye and North
Ye’s artistic resurgence, fueled by his bond with North, reflects a new chapter for the music icon. From crafting beats for his daughter to pushing boundaries with his own work, it’s clear that Ye’s creative fire is far from burning out.
Stay tuned to NStyleAtlanta.com for the latest on Ye, North, and their exciting musical ventures.
A$AP Rocky’s Trial Begins in L.A.: Everything We Know So Far
2025-01-22 15:44:53The highly anticipated trial of A$AP Rocky, born Rakim Mayers, is officially underway in Los Angeles. The Harlem-born rapper, designer, and actor faces two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, stemming from a November 2021 altercation with former friend and A$AP Mob member Terell Ephron, aka A$AP Relli.
The Allegations
According to Ephron, he and Mayers were once close friends, but their relationship fractured as Rocky’s star power grew. In November 2021, Ephron claims he met with Mayers outside the W Hotel in Hollywood to resolve their differences. Ephron testified that Mayers showed up with two men and, during their exchange, pulled a gun from his waistband and fired multiple shots, grazing Ephron’s hand.
Ephron alleges that he later returned to the scene to collect bullet casings, which he used to confront Mayers in a video message. Rocky reportedly responded by calling Ephron’s claims fabricated and daring him to involve the police. Ephron eventually filed a police report, leading to Rocky’s April 2022 arrest upon returning to the U.S. from a vacation in Barbados with Rihanna, his partner and the mother of his two children.
Rocky’s Defense
Rocky’s attorney, Joe Tacopina, plans to argue that the firearm captured in security footage was a harmless “starter pistol” used for security purposes. Tacopina has also suggested that Ephron fabricated the incident in pursuit of a financial settlement, citing a 2022 civil suit Ephron filed against the rapper.
Tacopina has emphasized Rocky’s eagerness to face the charges and put the case behind him, describing him as “ready to go” to trial. While Rocky may testify, Tacopina says the decision will depend on how the case unfolds.
What’s at Stake
If convicted, Rocky could face up to 24 years in prison. The trial is expected to last approximately three weeks, with jury selection and opening statements set to begin this week. Cameras will be allowed in the courtroom, giving the public a front-row seat to the proceedings.
Will Rihanna Be in Court?
Speculation about Rihanna’s attendance has been swirling. During an October hearing, the judge welcomed her presence but sought clarification on her relationship with Rocky, referring to her as his “significant other.” While Tacopina stated that Rocky prefers to keep Rihanna away from the trial, it remains a family decision.
So far, Rihanna has not attended any related hearings, and it’s unclear if she will appear during the trial.
Rocky’s Legal History
This isn’t Rocky’s first brush with the law. He was previously arrested at age 16 on attempted murder charges, though they were later reduced. In 2019, Rocky made international headlines after being detained for assault in Sweden following a street altercation. He was found guilty but avoided additional jail time.
What’s Next for A$AP Rocky?
Despite the trial, Rocky shows no signs of slowing down professionally. He’s slated to headline Rolling Loud California in March, co-chair the 2025 Met Gala in May, and release his fourth studio album, Don’t Be Dumb, later this year. He’s also up for a Grammy on February 2 and has a role in Spike Lee’s upcoming film, Highest 2 Lowest, starring Denzel Washington.
As the trial unfolds, fans and critics alike will be watching closely to see how it impacts the rapper’s future. Stay tuned to NStyleAtlanta.com for updates on the case and all things A$AP Rocky.
Dave Chappelle Delivers Bold and Controversial Monologue on SNL’s 2025 Premiere
2025-01-21 17:20:01Comedy legend Dave Chappelle kicked off the new year in style, hosting the season’s inaugural episode of Saturday Night Live on Studio 8H. This marked Chappelle’s fourth appearance as host, and true to form, he delivered an extended monologue packed with sharp wit, social commentary, and thought-provoking moments.
A Suit, a Cigarette, and a New Year’s Pickle
Walking onstage in a sharp suit and puffing on a cigarette, Chappelle wasted no time setting the tone. “Boy, I tell you something. I’m being very honest. I am in quite the pickle tonight,” he opened, recounting how SNL creator Lorne Michaels had asked him to host the first episode after the election. Initially, Chappelle declined, but later agreed to the date closest to January 6, quipping, “I could just get rid of all these old Trump jokes. I’ll do it!”
However, the comedian acknowledged that saying “yes” to hosting came with challenges, joking, “The moment I said yes, L.A. burst into flames!” Chappelle referenced the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, offering both somber reflections and biting humor. He criticized online commentary mocking celebrities who lost their homes while also joking about the wealth disparity the fires highlighted.
Controversy, Conspiracies, and Celebrities
Chappelle’s knack for tackling difficult topics head-on was on full display as he speculated on conspiracy theories about the fires. “If you were a rational, thinking person, you’d have to at least consider the possibility that God hates these people,” he joked, leaving the audience both laughing and squirming.
Pivoting to politics, Chappelle addressed Trump’s past controversial remarks about Haitians in Springfield, Ohio, where Chappelle himself resides nearby. He hilariously recounted how he supported the local Haitian community after Trump’s comments, even joking about the mystery meat he encountered at a Haitian restaurant.
Hollywood Scandals and Self-Deprecation
In true Chappelle fashion, no one was off-limits, not even himself. Touching on allegations surrounding Sean “Diddy” Combs, Chappelle cracked jokes about Diddy’s infamous “Freak Off” parties, lamenting his lack of an invitation. “Oh my god, I’m ugly! That’s a tough way to find out,” he quipped, joking about Hollywood’s exclusivity.
Trump, Carter, and a Sobering Conclusion
Chappelle wrapped his monologue with commentary on Donald Trump’s return to the White House as the 47th president. He acknowledged the coincidental timing of former president Jimmy Carter’s death, noting Carter’s legacy as a “good man” who made him feel proud as an American.
Chappelle’s closing remarks took an emotional turn as he addressed Trump directly: “The whole world is counting on you. Please do better next time.” He urged viewers not to forget their humanity, whether for displaced people in the Palisades or Palestine.
The Chappelle Effect
Dave Chappelle’s SNL appearance was as polarizing as it was memorable, cementing his reputation as a comedian unafraid to tackle the big issues while walking the line between controversy and humor. Whether you love him or hate him, one thing is certain: Chappelle knows how to keep everyone talking.

Love and Hip Hop Couple Yandy and Mendeecees Become Ghanaian Citizens
2025-01-08 18:57:29Yandy and Mendeecees Celebrate Becoming Ghanaian Citizens: “Africa Was Born in Me”
Reality TV stars Yandy Smith-Harris and Mendeecees Harris, best known for their roles on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, have added a new chapter to their story. The couple announced via Instagram that they are now officially citizens of Ghana, embracing their heritage in a profound way.
Their post, featuring a heartfelt caption and the Ghanaian flag emoji, read:
“Today we are officially Ghanaian 🇬🇭 I am not African because I was born in Africa but because Africa was born in me. 🇬🇭🇬🇭 ~ Kwame Nkrumah.”
The message pays homage to Ghana’s first president and reflects the couple’s deep connection to the continent.
This significant moment comes as part of Ghana’s “Beyond the Return” initiative, an extension of the successful “Year of Return” program launched in 2019. The program seeks to reconnect members of the African diaspora with their roots, fostering relationships and offering pathways to citizenship. Hundreds, including individuals from Canada, the U.K., Jamaica, and the U.S., have already become Ghanaian citizens.
While Americans face relatively few barriers to living in Ghana, such as paying an annual residency fee, gaining citizenship symbolizes much more than residency. For Yandy and Mendeecees, this move honors the history of the trans-Atlantic slave trade, which forcibly removed 10 to 15 million Africans to the Americas, most from West and Central Africa. Ghana, formerly known as the Gold Coast under British colonial rule, was a major departure point for enslaved Africans.
The couple’s journey resonates with many diasporans seeking to reclaim their heritage. Ghana’s government has positioned the program as both an economic opportunity and a way to heal historical wounds, encouraging investment and cultural exchange while remembering the painful legacy of the slave trade.
For Yandy and Mendeecees, becoming Ghanaian citizens is a meaningful step toward embracing their African identity. As the couple continues to share their story, they inspire others in the diaspora to explore their roots, reconnect with the continent, and invest in its future.
With historical sites like the “Door of No Return” and Cape Coast Castle serving as stark reminders of the past, Yandy and Mendeecees’ move is a testament to resilience, growth, and the enduring ties between Africa and its diaspora.
This announcement has sparked widespread support from fans and followers, with many applauding their commitment to honoring their ancestry and forging a new chapter in Ghana.

TI AND TINY HARRIS' $71M LEGAL VICTORY REDUCED
2025-01-07 04:41:02TI and Tiny Harris, the dynamic duo known for their music, reality TV fame, and entrepreneurial spirit, scored a major legal win in September 2024 when they sued MGA Entertainment for trademark infringement. The case revolved around the claim that MGA’s dolls copied the designs and name of the Harris-backed girl group OMG Girlz. A federal jury ruled in their favor, awarding the couple a staggering $71 million.
But the celebration was short-lived. On January 6, U.S. District Judge James Selna made a preliminary ruling that significantly reduced their payout. According to Selna, there wasn’t enough concrete evidence to prove that MGA willfully copied OMG Girlz’ designs or violated the Lanham Act, which governs trademark law. As a result, the couple’s punitive damages were slashed, leaving them with $17 million instead of the original $71 million.
While this decision is undoubtedly disappointing for TI and Tiny, it’s still a win—and a meaningful one. Tiny reflected on the journey in a heartfelt statement to People Magazine:
“We wanted to thank the jurors for just seeing us through this,” she said. “And just believing in what we said. They heard our story and they knew we wasn’t lying. It’s amazing.”
TI also shared his thoughts, emphasizing the bigger picture:
“I think it’s a testament to the relentless resilience of my wife, daughter, and nieces. We’re just happy we were able to come out on top and fight for creatives and our intellectual property.”
Why This Case Still Matters
Even with the payout reduced, this case is a reminder of the ongoing fight for creatives to protect their work and ideas. TI and Tiny’s victory highlights the importance of standing up against large corporations to safeguard intellectual property.
This battle also serves as inspiration for small creators and entrepreneurs who may feel powerless in similar situations. The Harris family’s relentless pursuit of justice proves that it’s possible to challenge big players and make your voice heard.

JAY Z'S ALLEGED ILLEGITIMATE SON ESCALATES A NEW LAWSUIT
2024-12-21 18:58:29Jay-Z’s Legal Battle with Alleged Son Rymir Satterthwaite Intensifies with New Lawsuit
Jay-Z’s long-standing legal battle with his alleged illegitimate son, Rymir Satterthwaite, has escalated once again as the 31-year-old filed a fresh lawsuit.
This time, Satterthwaite is taking aim at the court system itself. He alleges that he, his late mother, Wanda, and his guardian, Dr. Lillie Coley, were wrongfully denied access to critical legal records related to his paternity dispute with the rapper.
In the new filing, Satterthwaite accuses the courts of imposing unwarranted sanctions without evidence and obstructing their appeals. He claims that several judges, including Deborah Silverman Katz and Charles W. Dortch Jr., engaged in misconduct by misrepresenting property ownership and allowing false claims allegedly made by Jay-Z.
Satterthwaite further asserts that these actions caused significant emotional distress, prompting him to seek damages for what he describes as “negligent infliction of emotional distress.” He maintains that the prolonged legal battle has inflicted serious harm on him and his family.
According to The Daily Mail, Satterthwaite believes these actions were fraudulent and violated the rights of his late mother and his guardian, Dr. Coley, who has played a key role in pursuing the paternity case. He also alleges that he and his family were unjustly sanctioned for breaching gag orders that did not exist.
As part of the lawsuit, Satterthwaite and his family are requesting a declaratory judgment to confirm that their constitutional rights were violated. They are also seeking to unseal court records related to the case, advocating for greater transparency and public accountability.
This latest move adds another chapter to the long-running and contentious legal saga between Satterthwaite and the music mogul, who has consistently denied the paternity claims.

The complaint was filed by a Jane Doe in New York alleging she was unwillingly drugged with alcohol and other unknown substances and then sexually assaulted by Diddy repeatedly beginning in 2022 and the abuse spans over years.
“At every visit, Defendant Combs would make her ‘perform a show’ for him and would ply her with alcohol and substances until she passed out,” the suit states. “She would wake up with bruising and injuries but with no recollection of how she sustained her injuries.
