This past Saturday September 29th, over 100 guests gathered at the 3rd Annual Living Legends Gala, hosted by the iconic Emmy Award-winning actress Jasmine Guy, for an unforgettable night celebrating healthcare excellence. Held at the Loews Hotel Atlanta, the evening kicked off with an exclusive VIP reception, where distinguished guests and sponsors had the opportunity to network and connect.
Following the reception, the main gala commenced with speeches from influential leaders, including Thomas J. Blocker Society President Dr. Vandy Gaffney, Wayne Martin, President and CEO of Covenant HealthShare, Dan Walden, Executive at PNC Bank, and two students who shared how the support of the Thomas J. Blocker Society programming has positively impacted their collegiate experience.
A highlight of the evening was a powerful panel discussion, where honoree Dr. Willie Underwood III participated in a conversation facilitated by Emmy Award-nominated anchor Jonathan Martin. The panel explored Dr. Underwood’s incredible career and the current state of healthcare. Additionally, an auction was held to raise funds for scholarships and programming for future medical leaders.
