Tonight on OWN’s “The Great Soul Food Cook-Off” the top six chefs, Razia Sabour, Dorian Hunter, Shacafrica Simmons, Jamarius Banks, Chris Scott, and Fred Fluellen are bringing it back to the Bayou in this tribute to Cajun and Creole cooking. In the Soul Starter Challenge, they are faced with the daunting task of identifying and cooking with spicy chili peppers. Things take a competitive turn when Chef Chris gets the last pick for seafood proteins in the Cook-Off Challenge. Will he get his revenge? Whose seafood dish will come out on top and who will be sent home?

The Great Soul Food Cook-Off is an arc’d cooking competition that celebrates the contributions from Black cooks and Black cooking traditions that have shaped the backbone of American food. Eight professional chefs from across the country battle through challenges that highlight the past and present of Black food in America, but only one competitor will take home the grand prize of $50,000. This new competition series is a celebration of standout soul food chefs with dreams of winning as bold as the flavors on their plates.
