1.Please introduce yourself and describe your faith-based brand:
I am Pamela D. Smith. I am an active servant whose passion is helping women align their spirituality with their success goals so they don’t feel as if they are compromising their spiritual values while attaining success. I do this through teaching, speaking, coaching, consulting and publishing faith-based and inspirational writers.
2. Tell us about your new book: The Doors of the Church are Open: Staying Committed to Christ even When the Church Fails You.
The Doors of the Church are Open: Staying Committed to Christ even when the Church fails you is a Christian empowerment story about church hurt and things that go on behind the doors that shouldn’t. The story includes tips on effective evangelism and why it’s important to heal, if you’ve experienced church hurt, and keep your commitment to Christ.
3. What inspired you to tackle this specific area of spirituality?
I wrote this book because when trying to witness I’ve been met so many times with rejection because the person has experienced church hurt or offenses. These experiences have been shot down with things like, “just get over it” or “they just don’t want to go to church. ” The commitment is two-fold. As we expect people to commit to attending church, giving, and serving, the church must commit to being a light, being an extension of the love of Jesus Christ, and supporting all of the members, not just the high tithes payers, and those in the immediate circle. I also wrote it to encourage millennials because they are the largest group that are not attending church and it’s not because all of them are non-believers.
4. For those that may be at a crossroads spiritually, what advice would you share to help solidify their faith?
For anyone at a crossroad with their spirituality, their faith can be solidified by: embracing the truth of the word of God, without faith it’s impossible to please Him. Let that truth renew your commitment to Jesus and allow the renewed commitment to convince you that nothing can separate you from His love. Your faith can also be solidified by reminding yourself of all of the times that your faith has sustained you and helped you conquer.
5. What is next for you in 2019?
In 2019 I will be doing a book tour as well as a lot of teaching on Christian leadership, discipleship, and success and spirituality. In addition, there will be a lot about faith and fashion because so many women have been judged, shamed, and turned away (spiritually) from church because of what they wear.
