On a hot sunny afternoon, in a renovated recording studio, I was given the opportunity to interview the Grammy nominated R&B singer Lloyd. He has come a long way since his days with N-Toon. Yes, folks he got his start in the music industry before joining Murder Inc. On August 31st, he released his highly anticipated 5thalbum TRU. In our interview, we discussed everything from how he got started in the music industry, to the reason behind his five year hiatus, and the reason behind his album cover on TRU. Everyone knows the music industry’s fickleness and the highs and lows that come with the business. Despite what we know about the music industry, it was inspiring and refreshing to see that Lloyd remained true to his musical roots and himself—all while spreading love and kindness. I hope after watching my interview with Lloyd, you are also inspired to stay true to who you are and spread love and kindness in your own way—and get the answers to some of the questions you may have been wanting to ask Lloyd.
