TV One hosted the Atlanta premiere for the upcoming original film, “WHEN LOVE KILLS: The Falicia Blakely Story” on Wednesday, August 9th at Regal Atlantic Station to a packed theater of over 400 attendees. “WHEN LOVE KILLS: The Falicia Blakely Story,” marks the feature-length directorial debut for Tasha Smith and stars Niatia “Lil’ Mama” Kirkland, Lance Gross, Tami Roman and also guest stars Floyd Mayweather, Big Freedia and Lil Zane.

WHEN LOVE KILLS: The Falicia Blakely Story tells the tragic true story of Falicia Blakely, a teen mom from Atlanta who grows up in the fast-lane. When she becomes an exotic dancer, she attracts the attention of local pimp and predator, Dino. His empty promises of a life together turn Falicia into a pawn in his dangerous games, and she’s forced to prove her love for him at the expense of innocent lives. When Love Kills stars Niatia “Lil’ Mama” Kirkland, Lance Gross, Tami Roman and also guest stars Floyd Mayweather, Big Freedia and Lil Zane.

I recently caught up with VH-1 star Yandy Smith Harris to discuss her recent book and the drama that inspired her to write this colorful guide on raising children with outside siblings. It’s no secret that reality stars Yandy and her husband Mendeecees Harris have had an interesting story line on the popular show Love and Hip Hop New York.
Samantha Wallace and Erika Deshazo has children with Mendeecees and the tension between the ladies is what led Yandy to write a book to help parents with similar situations and how to have those difficult conversations with their children. “For me, that challenge came when it was time to sit down with my 2-year-old son and explain that his siblings may not be present at his birthday party,” Yandy wrote in the author’s note of her book. Yandy had a lot to say in the interview about the struggles of raising kids while her husband serve out his sentence, having a blended family, and new Love and Hip Hop drama. Latoya Heyward had an opportunity to sit down with Amina Buddafly from VH-1 Loveand Hip Hop to discuss her new book “The Other Women.” In the book and interview, she revealed the night before her wedding she had a threesome with her soon to be husband and another women, her feelings about her husband Peter Gunz, and how she has discovered a new confidence in herself. Amina feels every woman has a story to tell and she’s elated to finally be able to tell hers. After watching how she was depicted on love and hip hop, she was glad that she could finally give her side of the story. Amina is looking forward to raising her two children with Peter, and embarking on a new future. Peter was at her book signing giving his full support. We wish them the best of luck!
Amina Buddafly who was born and raised in Hamburg, Germany started out with a singing group consisting of her and her two sisters. Amina and the group signed their first record deal at the age of 15. The group moved to New York in 2002 and has released music on labels such as Island Def Jam and J Records under the name “Black Buddafly” for the past 12 years. Amina, the former lead singer of the group, went indie and solo in 2010 and has now grown an enormous following being on VH1’s hit TV show “Love and Hip Hop”. Today, Amina is an artist, author, mother and entrepreneur blazing new trails for her career.
