I recently caught up with VH-1 star Yandy Smith Harris to discuss her recent book and the drama that inspired her to write this colorful guide on raising children with outside siblings. It’s no secret that reality stars Yandy and her husband Mendeecees Harris have had an interesting story line on the popular show Love and Hip Hop New York.
Samantha Wallace and Erika Deshazo has children with Mendeecees and the tension between the ladies is what led Yandy to write a book to help parents with similar situations and how to have those difficult conversations with their children. “For me, that challenge came when it was time to sit down with my 2-year-old son and explain that his siblings may not be present at his birthday party,” Yandy wrote in the author’s note of her book. Yandy had a lot to say in the interview about the struggles of raising kids while her husband serve out his sentence, having a blended family, and new Love and Hip Hop drama. Check out the interview as she share a glimpse of her life as a mother and business mogul.
Her new book “My Blended Families” can be found on Amazon.com.
